THANKYOU!!!

Thankyou so much to all for your thoughts and prayers for my son Joseph. He is now walking on his own..no more wheelchair, walker, or cane! There's little discomfort and right leg has some numbness, but otherwise doing great.

I'll be back to making dolls after the holidays..hopefully (lol)..until then I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Love and hugs,
Matty

Still Here

Hi everyone..just wanted to say i'm still here but won't be doing so much as my son and daughter were in a very serious car accident coming home from work. My daughter, thank god, flew out the passenger window and suffered a broken nose and lots of bruising..my son sustained major injuries..broken back, shattered pelvis, internal bleeding (spleen), broken nose and lots of bruising. He's home now with a hospital bed and wheelchair on a long road to recovery, but he will walk again (going to start rehab in about a month).
One day at a time...

Hugs to all!
Matty

Blyh Doll

Just got done with this little doll..she's a clone doll of blythe's little sister. Her eyes change to four different colors. She is 8 inches tall.

New dress and hat. I can't find tiny shoes for her so she's wearing the boots she came with (not crazy about them!) Her feet are really tiny!

Before and after photo. I did alot of carving on her..nose with new nostrils, tinier lips, philtrum, hair cut, new lashes, and freckles.

She has two pull strings, one for changing her eyecolor and one for sleep eyes.

My New Obsession!

I really only wanted one..just to satisfy my curiosity why people go crazy over these dolls! Well needless to say my doll family is growing and more are coming!lol...It must be their eyes, or the cute little clothes and shoes they wear or you can buy or make! (they have lots of free sewing, knitting, and crochet patterns on the web for Blythe..really cute). You can also customize them, like carve their lips, paint the eyelids, change their eyechips, and much more. So I thought I would try.....
This is a Little Big Eyes doll that I started on (practice doll before I attempt customizing blythe). I took here apart, sanded the shine from her face, carved her lips, nose, and philtrum. Still working on her and will post pics when she's done.

I'm also rerooting her with angora mohair which I dyed with kool aid and still have alot more holes to fill!

Just an idea of what she'll look like. I forgot to take pics of before and after but if you want to see what the Little Big Eyes doll looks like, there's some on ebay and flickr.

Never too old to play with dolls!!

Published

I'm sooooo thrilled and honored to be published in the winter 2011 issue of "STUFFED" magazine!! I was asked by the editor of "STUFFED", Amber Damien (she found me through Etsy!) if I was willing to submit dolls for the magazine...and of course...well what could I say but "YES!!!". I know, they forgot the "s" in "Mattysdolls", but that's ok, it's still me!!
The magazine is full of fabulous creations from really great artist, I just love it!
